Excluding the Russian version(which I unfortunately, haven't seen yet), this is the 'Hamlet' movie that treats the drama with a most integral conception.Speaking about 'Hamlet', it is difficult to say what exactly 'integral' means, but anyway, the integrity of the movie as a piece of visual art is comparable with the ever self-deconstructing, yet undoubted integrity of 'Hamlet' as a text.

Ok, knowing a bit of the history behind a film really helps one enjoy the final product so much more. The amount of work and dedication Gibson put into portraying this unattainable character is well worth the praise. Um, and Carter is a demigod. No one performs a terribly gruesome death scene like Close. All versions are noted.

i like it because it has mel gibson in it he plays a very good hamlet
