Gods and Monsters (1998)

Awesome, so moving. Each of the 3 actors excels in their role, particularly Lynn Redgrave as Whale's devoted housekeeper, Hannah. The first time I saw it I was very impressed with Brendan Fraser, he brought a vulnerability to his part, that I thought, was beyond his acting ability. However, Sir Ian McKellan moved me to tears. Watch it the first chance you get.

Ian McKellen gives his best performance in this great work of cinema - it's one of the best stories about friendship I've ever seen.

Fantastic movie! Ian McKellen did a fantastic job, so great that he actually weirded me out. If an actor can draw that kind of emotion from its audience, you know he is good.

Really didn't expect to like this so much, but Ian McKellen as the openly gay and PTSD-affected director of the original "Frankenstein" film is terrific
