New York in the 1920s. Max Perkins, a literary editor is the first to sign such subsequent literary greats as Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald. A bit of a retread of drunk writer self-destructs tropes, but if you can't resist yet another trip down memory lane with your favorite writers, no matter how many times you may have taken it before, then Genius will give you another chance.

I honestly don't understand the negative reviews. This is one of the most amazingingly acted movies I've seen in a long time. Jude Law is unrecognizable. Of course, if your idea of a 5-star movie is Will Farrell then this is not for you.

I'm incredulous at the bad reviews of this movie. How many of the folks who accuse Jude Law of overacting ever witnessed Thomas Wolfe in the flesh? The only issue I had was the fact that Wolfe was a much larger man than Law and would have towered over Perkins. And considering the overall quality of the film, that is a small concern.
