Yes, it’s a bright and splashy jukebox epic with an irresistible central performance from Austin Butler . . . But in that signature Luhrmann way, it veers in and out of fashion on a scene-by-scene basis: it’s the most impeccably styled and blaringly gaudy thing you’ll see all year, and all the more fun for it.

I quite enjoyed it, but I have to admit I am not expert on history of Elvis so can not say how much was true and how much not, but it was entertaining throughout.

Elvis. The king left the stage. Unfortunately, the film left behind difficult feelings. On the one hand, you think that it shouldn't be much compared to the recent "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Rocketman", but on the other hand, you realize that "Elvis" falls way behind these two films. In places, "Elvis" is flawless, but these places are mostly live performances. Otherwise, the film jumps from one event to another, and for those who are not familiar with the career of Elvis Presley, it will be very difficult to understand all the events. Adds to all this a lot of not really needed dialogues and because of what the film is very stretched out, but showed very little.

A movie that runs on jet fuel and confetti, Elvis is a tribute to Presley’s innovative spirit, deep passion for fusing blues, country and gospel music and the intense connection he had with his audience

start too fast, confused, frantic directing and editing. the first part nevertheless remains the best of the film, I did not like the choice of using the colonel as narrator too much space used for music, I would have cut or speeded up some parts of the second half for a greater depth at the beginning of the young Elvis and of its development (most interesting part of the film).
