Dirty Dozen meets parts of the Deer Hunter meets Sammo Hung. Sammo Hung teams up again with Yuen Biao and a bunch of Chinese criminals to blow up a huge ammunition dump in Vietnam. Lots of action and a high bodycount. Sammo holds out til the end to kick the shit out of the villain Yuen Wah and kill the entire VC army.

Hung is at his thinnest and most Rambo-like in this flick about convicts sneaking into Vietnam in 1976 to destroy a giant American mountain of ammunition. The slow-mo and other special effects are primitive. Hung and Biao get some martial arts in at the end. Entertaining, but could really use a remake.

Not as good as "Pedicab Driver", but the martial arts are just are good, and the action more brutal than anything Ive seen from Hung so far. He stars here, along with a dirty dozen of Chinese soldiers(mostly immigrants) hired by the US goverment to infiltrate Vietnam and destroy a secret missile base. Well initially they are only sent in to create a distraction, but as turns for the worst so quickly move in these films the motely crew become the last hope/line of defesne etc. Hung always works in genre but he never merely parodies, he tries to find the best in each of the genre's he works in, sometimes exploding or imploding them but always bieng playful like Hong Kong martial arts Robert Altman. Fun.

This story is very reminiscent of The Dirty Dozen in Hong Kong film.
