I really love early Kubrick films. I mean, his others are nothing short of astonishing, but the early stuff is strange in a whole other way. It manages to seem like it's told in an old fashion way, but it really isn't. It feels very personal, as if it truly affects you in real life. I highly recommend "Paths of Glory" and "The Killing". This has quite a bit more drama than The Killing. It also changes what you think it's about 30 minutes in. But, that is a good thing I suppose. One of my all time favorite films, 2nd favorite of Kubrick's next to "The Killing".

Banned in France for 18 years, this masterpiece still packs a wallop, though nothing in it is as simple as it may first appear; audiences are still arguing about the final sequence, which has been characterized as everything from a sentimental cop-out to the ultimate cynical twist.

One of my favorite movies. This is the true story of how those in power took advantage of it and put three innocent soldiers on the stand for cowardice, during World War I. This might be my favorite of Kubrick's earlier films. Combining intense battle scenes, exquisite cinematography, and realism, Paths of Glory is a humane anti-war movie with powerful performances and one of the most effective, knock-out endings I have ever seen.

excelente argumento. aunque este en blanco y negro es interesante de ver. para los que estan en la guerra la vida no tiene valor. es un elemento mas, no se apegan ni a la logica. destruyen vidas y familias como si nada.
