Another court martial with an unhappy ending. another Kubrick masterpiece in black and white and with mrs Kubrick singing a song for the soldiers that will make your eyes moist,that is if you still have a pulse

Stanley Kubrick's "Paths of Glory" is more then just your ordinary war film. It's a anti-war film that deals with the politics in war. Kubrick derives from following any certain conventions that is usually found in other war movies. Kirk Douglas delivers a great performance and he is backed up by several good supporting actors. The cinematography, especially the tracking shot in the trenches are fantastically executed.

Definitly not the kind of movie you would show on a recruitment office. But oh... it is profund, believeble, and it is a masterpiece of middlemanagement problems. It is a movie you will not forget. Poor soldiers. They did not volunteer, and died in those slaughteries. We can only hope that todays officers, when they see this movie get to understand why this end up being an antiwar movie, and they learn not to fall into the same mistakes, when taking decitions of these kind.
