The film that launched the greatest franchise of all time still stands amongst the best produced. Connery's James Bond is a licensed killer, dangerous opponent and legendary ladies man undiluted by parody or imitation, the original is still the best.

"Dr. No is a 1962 James Bond action, adventure film starring Sean Connery and Ursula Andress with Bernard Lee and Joseph Wiseman as the notorious Dr. No."

You can see the level of influence that is still highly prominent in today's action genre

This is my review of the first chapter in the on-going non-stop 007 franchise where that movie starts right here in 1962 titled Dr. No starring Sean Connery as British Agent 007 Bond...James Bond...(theme song plays). The story concerns Bond being sent to Jamaica to investigate the murders of a British agent and his secretary. During his investigation, he comes into contact with the evil and unscrupulous Chinese scientist Dr. No (which is why the title is so-called) who, living on an island called Crab Key, is hard at work in a nuclear laboratory. Helping Bond is Ursula Andress (mostly undressed in a bikini throughout most of the film), as well as bad gals like Zena Marshall, who almost leads Bond to his death in her bedroom, and Eunice Gayson, a Bond pickup in a London gambling house who proves herself a greater adversary than even James Bond can handle. A standard start but badass beginning to the evolutionary of an amazingly unique franchise based on Ian Fleming's novels. Dr. No gets a 9.8/10.

Dr. No is one of the better Bond films. It has quite a few goofs and a relatively slow pace, but there is plenty of atmosphere, an intriguing plot, great action sequences, and fantastic set design. It also set the standard for the James Bond films to come.
