Although some of the Israeli Mossad Agent's (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) decisions here are head shakingly foolish and some of the plot elements can get confusing, there's enough intrigue and surprises in the movie to be able to recommend. Sadly, John Hurt's final film and, as usual, he is superb in a supporting role.

Unique International drama starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Jonathan gives an outstanding performance as Ari Ben-Zion.

The persuasive use of real locations only underlines the frustrating sketchiness when it comes to exploring the potentially fascinating intricacies of Israeli-Syrian power play.

I wanted to see this movie despite its bad reviews as I love Jonathan.m.r and thought he will carry the movie....so disappointed that the script, writing and directing is sooooo poor that messed up his acting as well. No character development , no surprises, no thrill at all, predictable scene, poor chemistry between the love interests, unnecessary scenes that don’t add anything to the storyline.........the love story between him and female American reporter is not believable, I can’t see the chemistry, poor scenes that are over acted...this could have been exciting and filled with suspense, they took a great movie idea and messed it up. Actors just following directors orders, it’s a horrible movie. I gave it a one because I like Johnathan .m.

Great movie. Perfect summer escape. The writing, directing and cast are brilliant. I would even go read the book it's based on. Highly enjoyable thriller.
