ive seen it 4 times now and its still amazing. it has cute romance, funny stints, and hair raising murder stories. not to mention an amazing cast. one of dietrich's best roles.

WHEE! i LOVE alfred hitchcock's movies! love em! this was supposed to be a thriller, but it wasn't that thrilling. the fact that the movie was in B&W enhanced the talents of the actors even more, cuz everything is emphasized with colours. this is THE original, good film one rarely catches.

Very underappreciated Hitchcock because of its intricate plot and requirement of the utmost attention of the viewer. I'd dare to call it a comic masterpiece and it surely deserves such high accolades. Mr. Hitchcock always knows precisely how long to maintain the suspense and never, ever drags on scenes longer than he needs to. In [I]Stage Fright[/I], he also adds a musical number to hint at the motives of several characters. Dietrich's performance is as intrepid as ever, but she also has a coy air about her near the film's end. The other performances are sound, as well. Hitch also applies the theatrical portion of the movie to all the characters' "real lives", very much reminiscent of [I]The 39 Steps[/I]. The title for this movie is allegorical, in a sense, and is fulfilled in the literal meaning of the phrase and in the film's conclusion.

Alfred Hitchcock consideró haber cometido un error crucial en esta película. Dicho "error" no se puede revelar aquí, pero lo que sí se puede decir es que "Stage Fright" es una película entretenida de principio a fin en la que Hitchcock utiliza a la figura del actor para mostrarnos un mundo falso que esconde verdades oscuras. Los orígenes de Norman Bates se encuentran aquí, los personajes secundarios son los principales y Marlene Dietrich es inigualable interpretando a la mujer fatal.
