Great crime-thriller from Israel. Starts like a typical vigilante movie, but then develops into something more. It's a whodunnit and a dark drama, all with some very funny, witty moments. The funny, hip dialogue in the middle of some pretty violent scenes reminded me of the style of Quentin Tarantino. Good plot, with some decent, deliberate red herrings and a very good twist at the end. Not perfect - some gaps and unanswered questions remained at the end. The way some things happened were also just a bit too neat. As mentioned, great dialogue. Very funny at times. Solid direction. Tension is built and maintained well. Good performances all round.

Being both visually striking and fiendishly clever in it's approach, it's of no surprise that Big Bad Wolves is receiving so much praise from film festival audiences, as well as one of todays biggest names in the film industry, Quentin Tarantino.

It takes a VERY daring filmmaker to bring comedy into such a disturbing and dark horror/drama/thriller. Everything from the title, to the twisting direction of the film was very well thought out. Keeps you guessing all the way 'til the very end, but then finally gives you the answer you need in this type of film.

Holy shit this was a fun movie. I mean, I know it's sick to say that this movie is fun, but I sort of had a blast watching it. I haven't seen a movie so seamlessly mix black comedy with that much suspense in... ever actually.
