This movie is terrifying in how it realistically it breaks the perfect love-story we don't have the heart to abandon. While Bardot's original transition from cold seductress to strong-willed but different-loving is clumsy, the rest of the movie expertly highlights an ideal that is difficult but profoundly warm. If seems that the further we go into the past, the stronger and more complex our characters become. I'm not sure why this is but it's kind of sad.

This is not a great movie technically speaking. It's more a vehicle for the mesmerizing Brigitte Bardot, and woman of such beauty and sensuality that she takes your breath away. The rest of the film is just window dressing.

Man will love this film. First of all because of Brigitte Bardot off course, and second because it's all about how women can badly affect and control man! :) Well, it has some good moments, not bad....
