Typical Bardot. Beautiful, but it became tedious.

Not a bad movie. The plot is good, though somewhat drawn out more than necessary. Brigitte Bardot plays a great femme fatale and, the thing I love about her the most - her love for animals - stands out here as well. Two of the worst fight scenes I've ever witnessed definitely detract from the drama. The ending was abrupt and completely unsatisfactory, especially since the lead-up to it had promise.

The movie sort of meanders most of the time, but Brigitte Bardot's indelible sexiness keeps the movie going. It also has a punchy ending that should have been put into a better film, but oh well. I guess the movie rewards you for being patient.

French melodrama has it's moments - particularly toward the end - and looks great but is a bit dated particularly in its treatment of women. Probably shocking in its time but not anymore.
