This was an awesome movie. Very highly recommended. A fantastic story line, lots of action, and a great plot.

Insanely good movie. Its like "The Godfather" and (a very toned version) of "There Will Be Blood" made a baby. Story is set in the 1980's and you follow a man whose trying to solidify his success. Along the way, constant problems arise and he's faced with trying to deal with things....the right way. Superb acting, great story...cinematography is fantastic. Definitely worth checking out.

Oscar Isaac continues his campaign to be my favorite working actor in this superb, slow-burn crime drama that finally strips the glorification of the American gangster film and places it in an albeit dark reality.

A Most Violent Year, filmed in drab, camel-coloured tans and browns as though made on location in 1981, isn't a flashy film; just a very, very good one.
