While there are better films in Orson Welles' oeuvre, I'm not sure any are more mesmerizing -- and I'm pretty sure that no film seems so emblematic of his career.

surprisingly not as "great" as one would expect from welles. but depsite its flaws, it's a great time indeed. solid cast all around, and wonderful b&w photography, and that great narration by welles! a must see!

Probably one of Orson Welles and Rita Hayworth's finest films. An awesome film noir that really twists and turns. It took me a second watch to really get it, but I loved it the first time. It's well acted, dark, creepy, visually stunning (as Welles' films tend to be), with a great plot, and extremely interesting characters. It also leads to one of the finest last scenes in film history. Oh and I'm not silly for being confused: Harry Cohn, head of Columbia Studios at the time was so baffled by the first edit of the film he ordered Welles to re-edit it, culling off almost an hour of footage to the version we see now. One can only hope that Columbia unearth the original edit, and release a directors cut.

Masterpiece of perfection!!!!!!!!!!!! Joya maestra por donde se la mire: desde una fotografÃa de la puta madre, la cÃ¡mara de no creerse, un guiÃ³n de la ostia, hasta unas actuaciones increÃbles (especialmente las masculinas) y un tributo a la belleza de su esposa, Rita Hayworth. Gran final en la casa de los espejos (pa mi que Welles primero pensÃ³ ese final y luego la peli, jejeje). Me encantÃ³.
