Dancer in the Dark (2000)

Selma, a Czech immigrant on the verge of blindness, struggles to make ends meet for herself and her son, who has inherited the same genetic disorder and will suffer the same fate without an expensive operation. When a movie makes me feel this much, I know that it is great. Emotions arise that I cannot define. Along with an obscure cast and beautifully heart breaking music, this film comes to life. And the songs and people, that surpass mere characters stay with you, if you simply open your mind and your heart if you are willing. For some it may be too fantastic to take in. Experiencing this film requires all the wisdom and understanding of an adult along with the free spirit and imagination of a child. Perfect!

i could write that this is a wonderful, heartbreaking, breathtaking and perfect movie, but no words can really justify this film. it's so much more than words can describe! i simply loved it, and it's definitely the most beautiful musical in the entire world.

at first, i hated that the film ended the way it did, but i do understand the concept. great writing, awesome characters so flawlessly played.. and i LOVED the whole musical twist to the tragedy. beautiful film. BJORK FOREVER!
