Wings of Desire (1987)

Two angels, Damiel and Cassiel, glide through the streets of Berlin, observing the bustling population, providing invisible rays of hope to the distressed but never interacting with them. When Damiel falls in love with lonely trapeze artist Marion, the angel longs to experience life in the physical world, and finds — with some words of wisdom from actor Peter Falk — that it might be possible for him to take human form.

again, Wim Wenders also always worth the time

The most emotionally and spiritually moving film of all time and one of the greatest movie ever made. Beautiful,just beautiful. Wings of desire is special, it is something that you can never witness. The poetry,cinematography and screenplay were fabulous, that attachment between all the characters was unreal. It is a hidden gem, a masterpiece and a must watch movie.

Wim Wenders finds means to say something that could not have been siad otherwise. It's a film about material, immaterial and the relationship in between.

The secret life on angels in quite poetic way. Long life for Bruno Ganz as Damiel, an angel who can read what you think, and he is just visible for the afflicted and the children. Filmed in Berlin before the fall of the wall half B&W and half color. Pay attention for Peter "Columbo" Falk.
