Ok, it's been so long now since I've seen it I don't really remember how it was. However, I DO remember it as being one of the funniest dang movies I'd seen in a long time. I've wanted to watch it again ever since I first rented it. :)

[size=1]Watched this movie for the first time last night. pretty good for a light comedy, i must say. this seems more like a family comedy to me, except some of the language isn't for kids; nevertheless it has a light plot line. i enjoy ray romano, but i cant think of him playing any other character than himself. gene hackman's a hoot. does a real good job, but then he's good at any part he plays. i give this an 8, because its good, but not great. definitely worth seeing though. the only thing that really bothers me is that ray's character never gets the guts to ask his girlfriend to marry him until the end, but i guess thats how its supposed to be in movies.[/size] [size=1][/size] [size=1]want good Gene Hackman? i recommend Runaway Jury[/size]

Gene Hackman is one of my favorite actors. He is incredibly versatile. Maura Tierney is someone I'll go out of my way to watch. They were both really good in this movie. Having been one of probably ten people in the US who has never watched "Everybody Loves Raymond," Ray Romano was the unknown factor. From this performance, I just don't get the appeal. Very dry sense of humor, very whiney acting style. He didn't ruin the movie for me, but he sure made it difficult for me to like it as much as I wanted to. The story is stupendously unbelievable, and that had much to do with stymying my enjoyment as well. Some funny bits, some too silly bits, much predictability. This should have been about half-hour shorter too. Worth watching, but you'll probably not fall in love with it. You wrote this on 9/30/08.

It's called Mooseport for goodness' sake. It's not the best movie, but it made me laugh a few times.
