Married couple Jack and Terry Linden are experiencing a difficult period in their relationship. When Jack decides to step outside the marriage, he becomes involved with Edith, who happens to be the wife of his best friend and colleague, Hank Evans. Learning of their partners' infidelity, Terry and Hank engage in their own extramarital affair together. Now, both marriages and friendships are on the brink of collapse.

What the movie "Closer" should've been. Much more believable, and takes it to a further point.

I so get this movie, because I'm living it,but not with another couple. These emotions are real and intense. Living in a dissinegrating marriage while another watches is frusting as hell too.

[font=Palatino Linotype]Well, I had to swear I wouldn't tell where I saw this movie... almost a week before it opened. ;) Ahh... we must pay homage to the "private screeners" of the world. :o [/font] [font=Palatino Linotype][b]Watch this movie.[/b] It is perhaps one of the most phenomenally emoted movies I have ever seen - and Laura Dern steals the show. I originally only wanted to see it because I am a fan of Mark Ruffalo... but once I was there, well, as amazing as he is, of the two main male characters, it is Peter Krause's portrayal that comes through with sheer brilliance of acting. [/font] [font=Palatino Linotype]Absolutely lovely. Certainly in the running for my top 10 of the year. :up: [/font]

i greatly prefer this exploration of suburban infidelity to other such films, and i'm partial to mark ruffalo :)

Brief, painful and to the point. Mark Ruffalo and Naomi Watts are, as usual, excellent. The arguments are frighteningly realistic with an unfortunately truthful resolution.
