Loved it! ?? Fantastic performance by Dame Judi Dench and supporting cast! Excellent direction and stunning costumes and sets! I find it difficult to read the poor reviews of this movie from individuals that I feel don't know shit about movies! It's a damn movie not historical accuracy. It is written at the very beginning of the movie that it may or may not be based on historical accuracy! Enjoy the movie as a story and don't bitch about negative aspects of British rule and what is or isn't acceptable or accurate!

A story that does not speak well for the British royal family or the household staff that worked in the Queen's residence at the time of Queen Victoria's last years. Very interesting historical perspective on the British colonial rule in India before the country was divided. The movie portrays a friendship that grows between a very sad, ill monarch and a younger man that is chosen to present an Indian coin to the Queen. Watching this caring relationship grow, along with her health improving is heartwarming for the movie audience. Great movie.

GO SEE THIS MOVIE! Judi Dench gives an Oscar winning performance., as usual. The English have done it again, giving us a great period movie with stunning performances and direction. I can't see any critic not loving this movie.

This is a very warm story about an unusual relationship surrounded by palace intrigue, power struggles and jealousy. It is about the loneliness of a world-weary Queen who finds the emotional support she needs in a man from a very different culture.
