One of Clint's most overlooked movies and also one of his best. Clint & Jeff Bridges play a couple of bank robbers who team up with a couple of more bank robbers to rob a bank depository. George Kennedy is really funny (accidentally) and Jeff Bridges is really good in the whole movie except for his last scene where he was over the top.

Eastwood classic. Bridges is brilliant. Great movie

This one features an early appearance by Catherine Bach of The Dukes Of Hazzard fame.

Michel Cimino's first film is by far his best. Yes, he may have won the Oscar for 'The Deer Hunter' but Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is an unparalleled story of male bonding thinly disguised as a heist movie. Jeff Bridges was nominated for the Academy Award for his performance and Clint Eastwood was unjustly snubbed for a nomination for his role as Thunderbolt. A film with many layers and ambiguous themes of homosexuality, in reality it's Thunderbolt's growing empathy for Lightfoot that leads to the films tender, yet heartbreaking finale. Scripts with endings like this one are no longer made and that's an awful shame. Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is 5 STARS and a top five Eastwood film.

A film that is layered more than it gets credit for, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is more a study of male bonding than it is a story about a bank heist. From the start, Cimino puts our protagonists through a series of shared, but hair raising events that builds their friendship and empathy for one another's plight. As the film develops, the heist becomes merely a means to an end, but that's okay. The real story is the friendship built and eventually (spoiler alert) lost between two men.
