ocean liner Poseidon is on a magnificent voyage from New York to Athens. Unfortunately, disaster befalls passengers and crew when the cruise ship is overturned by a titlewave on new years eve. how will they get out of the ship and who will survive.

Yet another beautiful, atmospheric 70s film that was butchered by the contemporary film industry. Forget the new film, go for this brilliant, classic original!

Forget the average remake, this is the real deal! A film that always seems to be on Tv every Christmas, repeated viewings have not diminished this classic disaster movies power. A cruise ship capsizes leaving a handful of survivors to battle to reach safety. Great performances, especially from Gene Hackman as the disallusioned clergyman, contribute to a 5* movie.

A film that means so much to me on so many different levels. A masterpiece that did not need remaking as there is nothing wrong with this version - it still stands up today.
