Classic Film Noir, highly recommend if you like the genre, first teaming of Ladd and Lake

Hitman seeks revenge against a double-crossing nightclub owner. Alan Ladd sets the tone early by slapping around the cleaning lady for chasing away his kitten. Veronica Lake looks great too in this classic film noir.

Pretty good but not as good as I expected.

I can already get the idea that there's a particular charm being left on the audience by Veronica Lake's presence.
