This is a nasty, disturbing little film. Shocking in its quiet depiction of people's nearly limitless capacity for atrocious behavior. Loved it, check it.

the impact of the film hits you when the credits roll. exhilarating watch; didn't quite expect the turn of events nearing the very end. tragic really, poor monsieur hire. the two protagonists were darn good , as was the script and the complementary cinematography.

Voyeuristic, dark, and wrenching drama that positions the audience and then plays with their sympathies. A study in loneliness and obsession that is classic Leconte. Hard not to fall for Michel Blanc's performance.
