Mercifully broken into 10 parts, Les Vampires would have been better if, instead of "Irma Vep", "Vampire" had been rearranged to spell "Ima Perv". That notwithstanding, I was slightly disappointed to realize there were no real vampires involved (oh, spoiler alert maybe), rather just a gang of people committing crimes calling themselves "The Vampires." For 6 hours and 39 minutes. It took me over a week to get through all 10 parts, it was like a chore. But it gets bonus points for being from 1915, before any of the otherwise familiar elements seen in the movie technically ever existed. This doesn't mean it holds up that well in my book, but I do give it marks for originality.

A highly entertaining, occasionally surreal silent serial about a gang of cat burglars led by the notorious Irma Vep!

Very long. This has 10 parts of about 30 minutes each. I finished the first 6 and they are very entertaining.

Kind of a surreal story about a gang of criminals. Fun to watch and although the episodes vary in length I was still glued to the screen waiting what would happen to the sneaky vampires and their arch enemy.

Man was this film both fun and funny, it was rather odd watching this to know that the surrealists loved this film, but now looking at it, the unconventional lack of particular reality and more on absurd charisma and wacked out situations is seriously interesting and probably impressed more than anything else, to use cinema as a tool to do anything, literally anything and be able to explore everything.
