The Story Lady (1991)

When Grace comes to live with her daughter and son-in-law, she is eager to find a way to be useful in the community. She loves to read stories to children, and decides to read one on public access television. The response is so strong that a large company hears about it and offers her a television series. Her life becomes complicated as she is forced to make some serious decisions. Through it all, Grace is able to help a young mother realize that time is the most valuable gift she could give to her daughter.

I have yet to see Jessica Tandy in anything that wasn't flawless. If you have children, you should also have this film in your library.

I only saw the second half of this. It didn't really impress me!

This endearing story of a newly widowed senior trying to find meaning in her life is a lesson to people everywhere that spending time with the ones you love is more important than anything else in life. My favorite quote in the movie is when the main character (Jessica Tandy) says, "When people are at the end of their life, nobody ever says, I wish I had spent more time at work!" In my eyes, this says it all.
