Uninteresting melodrama that only pricked my interest due to the two leads. A 'nothing' story with lacklustre performances from the entire cast, with Burton particularly unconvincing as an Indian doctor. And if all that isnt bad enough - the third act plumbs new depths in Special Effects and stock footage! Poor!

This remake, starring Lana Turner, of the 1939 The Rains Came is not as compelling, but the special effects (nominated for Oscar) are good
