My number 2 Allen flick. A very cool idea that is exceedingly well-executed. This is an Allen movie, so yeah it's funny, but it's another rather sad one. For once Woody doesn't play his neurotic persona, but instead leaves that more or less up to Mia Farrow. Hooray Jeff Daniels.

I could watch this endlessly. One of my favorite Woody Allen films. What's really brilliant about this film is everything about it. It's hilarious, the story is sharp and original, Daniels and Farrow and the supporting cast are at their best, and the innovation combined with the acting and clever script make this an incredibly masterpiece. Despite the hilarity, the underlying sadness is beautifully conveyed- the struggle and heartache of Cecilia is really felt by the audience. It's bittersweet, romantic, and full of laughs and twists to last a lifetime.

This is the saddest "feel good" movie I've ever seen. And it's Woody Allen's most perfect film in every way.
