Young hobbit Frodo Baggins, after inheriting a mysterious ring from his uncle Bilbo, must leave his home in order to keep it from falling into the hands of its evil creator. Despite the fact that some of the special effects might have aged, this remains one of the best epic films ever, and a brilliant and utterly faithful adaptation of the novel. It is also a work of love. The music is powerful, and the acting is generally excellent, especially the hobbits and the wizards. Only the elves and their singing look a bit silly, but this is quite inevitable - the actors are only human.

Alongside a wide variety of movie genres from Godfather to Citizen Kane, Fellowship ranks among the greatest American movies of all time and brings a new level to fantasy films that has yet to be matched. At the turn of the century, people were starting to look for something new and exciting that would rock the world of movie cinema and bring the world together through a film that would boast the imagination of many and satisfy their taste in movies as the turn of the century allowed itself to occur. Fellowship has made it's mark in history and will forever be remembered as a thrill ride of imagination for those who are in search of some. Imagination-seekers, your search ends here. 5 stars.

The first entry in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy is a ground-breaking achievement in cinema. This film was in my opinion, perfect. You are immediately introduced to this stunning, fantasy world, which has been directed so well and cinematographed ingeniously, that you never want to leave it. The very talented cast definitely add that great sense of realism to the world, appearing ultimately convincing in their roles they play so ingeniously. The special effects were done strikingly well, with the monsters looking life like, especially because of the crisp direction. The action in this film knows where it needs to be to fit in with the captivating drama, and finally, despite this being a very long film, and being a very good film - I'd usually say this almost four hour film flew by in a breeze, but I could acknowledge that this film was four hours long and it felt four hours long to me, but I didn't want it to end. I give this film a 10/10.
