Broadway showgirl Evelyn Nesbit is the object of affection of two men: playboy architect Stanford White and the wealthy but unstable Harry Thaw. Nesbit marries Thaw, but White's continued pursuit puts him in the path of Thaw's volatile temper. A fictionalized account of true events that occurred at the turn of the 20th century.

It never caught my interest despite the juicy sensationalist story it promised to tell.

This story has fascinated me ever since I read about Evelyn Nesbe\it in Cecil B. DeMille's autobiography. Proves that sensationalism and the creation of the "It" girl are nothing new. Joan Colllins does a great job as Nesbit, demonstrating her tragic victimization by two men.

What makes this flick so fascinating to me is that the story is so scandalously true and involves such a brilliant architect with a rather risqué fetish, a murder of passion, and a connection to the Pittsburgh area in which I grew up.

Along with one or two of the sound stage epics she was involved with, this one represents the height of Joan Collins on the big screen. She is not bad in this irreverent romantic drama.
