In Dublin, two couples (Jim and Danielle; Yvonne and Chris) are seemingly living in marital bliss. However, when Chris's behaviour begins to change, Yvonne seeks solace in the arms of Jim, and before long they are in the midst of an affair. The Delinquent Season was recommended to me to watch by several of my friends when looking for a drama to watch so I decided to check it out. This movie shows just how deep romantic affairs can be and how they can break and tear families apart.

O’Rowe...evokes both a theatrical and literary sense of narrative (it’s likely no coincidence that Jim references novelist John Updike), with scenes effectively unfolding like well-honed chapters. The cast is also first-rate.

The Delinquent Season will undoubtedly inspire some interesting conversations about fidelity, masculinity, obsession and the mundane work of relationships. But next time, O'Rawe needs to fully explore what it is that makes cinema a different medium.

I was looking for a romantic, drama to see when I stumbled upon The Delinquent Season. I watched it recently and was absorbed by all the drama that took place. I kept wondering how this was going to end, and I wasnâ(TM)t let down by the dark yet realistic ending. It was romantic and it was genuine. I was impressed by the nature of this movie, as it accurately depicted modern romances and affairs. I would definitely say this is a movie in which I didnâ(TM)t know what to expect but I couldnâ(TM)t keep my eyes off the screen.
