Absolutely amazing film. One of the best gangster flicks I've ever seen. John Conners is a believable hard man and due to this it's makes the film seem even more authentic.

It didn't live up to the hype but it is a decent crime flick. Connors is solid in the lead but compared to the rest of the gang his accent is totally out of place. The ending is predictable but it is good to see an Irish movie do well at the box office. The Irish hip-hop soundtrack does contribute to the film's gritty social realism but in general, I can't take it seriously.

Is it realistic? I have no idea. Is it 90 minutes of your time well spent? Absolutely. Excellent movie, thank God for subtitles!

Salty, funny, and enlivened by some fantastic Dublin rap music, Cardboard Gangsters has a rare authenticity in terms of its subject matter and location.
