Great movie. Made me want to read the book... "only God knows how much i love you.."

A splendid and deep film ... though thought to be not that good as the novel. A little bit sluggish at certain moments, but with a stunning end ... and with remarkable soundtrack - especially the tracks by Shakira - like: "Pienso en ti", "Despedida", "Hay amores" ...

The book is great, it inspired me as well... but the movie, like someone said: 'is average'. If u read the book u can fully comprehend the story behind Fermina and Florentino's love.

I love this movie, it's a sad love story and I did enjoy Javier Bardem's performance -he is one of the best movie stars on the earth.

Saddled with the drama's most laughable bit of dialogue, Bratt sounds exactly like Pepe LePew (an evocation shared by the critic sitting next to me at the screening).
