Who needs "Airplane!" when you have "The Concorde...Airport '79?" This unfortunate final "Airport" entry brings loads of laughs, almost all unintentional! Lalo Schifrin gamely provides a good film score, but he's definitely swimming upstream. A crazy cast of actors, from good to silly populate this disaster movie, which is a disaster in more ways than one!

It's very silly, but the starry cast (Robert Wagner, Sylvia Kristel, Eddie Albert) manages to be as over-the-top as the effects, making this a fun if incredibly mindless way to spend a couple of hours.

The most over-the-top of the franchise and well the blatant silliest. This time George Kennedy is the pilot and his supporting character is expanded. He is the only actor in all four films. Robert Wagner plays a bad guy. The flare gun scene is hilarious. The best part of the film for me was Susan Blakely but really this is just disaster camp. 2 out of 5 So Says the Soothsayer

Final installment of the Airport series which had been steadily declining since the original in 1970. The efx are pathetic, but even worse the storyline is poor with plot holes big enough to fly the concorde through. The script is downright awful, with plenty of awkward moments, although meant to be serious, elicit snickers or belly laughs from the viewer. Poor george Kennedy, minimalized in Airport 1977, has a leading role in this feature but almost seems embarassed by this fiasco. A poor wrap-up to the series. This movie can best be summed with by the "cockpit" remark..poor taste and putrid. The movie seems to suddenly end; I guess the producer ran out of money and decided enough was enough.

Series ups the ante by boarding the world's most famous and fastest plane. Hollywood Squares casting brings the likes of John Davidson, Charo, Jimmie Walker and Martha Raye on board in pointless roles. I was surprised many of the travellers opted to continue their Concorde experience after a troublesome flight to France featuring missile and jet fighter attacks. The connecting flight to Moscow only experienced sabotage. Heroic efforts by Delon and Kennedy in the cockpit.
