Enduring Love (2004)

Two strangers become dangerously close after witnessing a deadly accident. On a beautiful cloudless day a young couple celebrate their reunion with a picnic. Joe has planned a postcard-perfect afternoon in the English countryside with his partner, Claire. But as Joe and Claire prepare to open a bottle of champagne, their idyll comes to an abrupt end. A hot air balloon drifts into the field, obviously in trouble. The pilot catches his leg in the anchor rope, while the only passenger, a boy, is too scared to jump down. Joe and three other men rush to secure the basket. But fate has other ideas...

A British drama about love and stalking, oddly enough. I have a feeling this is one of those books which didn't make the transition into film quite so well. The opening scene with the balloon is interesting for its use of silence, but that remains the highlight of the film. The actors do the job well enough, but as a stalker film it should be at least somewhat creepy in places, which in my opinion it fails to be. You can easily tell the points in the story you're supposed to find creepy, without feeling the least bit inclined to find it so. Even at the climax at the end of the film I found myself thinking: "Is that it?" It simply fails to engage you, that's its main problem. I also found it hilarious that Joe's grand academic theories about love, psychology, chemistry and biology are very similar to something I heard coming out of the mouth of a rather immature 20-year-old some years ago.What, love is just a delusion to make us procreate? Well, I never!

wow what a brilliant movie 2 watch..i have just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good movie 2 watch..its got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie...i think that daniel craig, rhys ifans, bill nighy, samantha morton, bill weston play good parts throughout this movie...i think that the director of this Drama, Mystery & Suspense movie had done a great job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie..its a brilliant movie 2 watch..i think that rhys ifans was very creepy as jed perry because he plays him brilliantly throughout this movie..its a really great movie..its a good movie 2 watch n its really enjoyable

Excellent film about obession and twisted desires. Starts off as a seemingly easy film and turns into something quite dark. Daniel Craig is excellent and Rhys Ifans takes quite a turn from the silly character he was in Notting Hill. I surely did not see this ending coming.
