Probably my favorite movie of all time. It's a little long, but well worth the time. There are historical inaccuracies throughout the movie, but definitely a good watch.

A time-consuming commitment of a film, but worth every minute. The story of a fledgling space program and the men (and women) who sacrificed of themselves in order to pave the way to the moon. A brilliant cast includes Sam Shepard, Ed Harris, and a young, hotshot Dennis Quaid. Bill Conti's score is a terrific fanfare. Great history lesson.

This near flawless portrait of the first Americans in space from writer/director Philip Kaufman is superbly cast, written, directed and seen. From Tom Wolfe's book, The Right Stuff looks at the endeavors of the original Mercury 7 astronauts as shown parallel to the exploits of original key player Chuck Yeager. After 25 years, I still cannot find too much to complain about this film. A masterpiece.
