Funny Bette Davis + serious Debbie Reynolds. Yes. Gore Vidal + Paddy Chayefsky. Oh yes. Plastics and skin doctors and ranch houses, "compatibility" and "trouble" and immediate family. Thank you, TMC.

A much underrated piece of work, a kind of lower-class Mother of the Bride. Bette Davis proves yet again that she may also be a star but she is first and foremost an actress. And Debbie Reynolds gives on her finest and most moving performances to date.

It kinda drags on, but you really connect with the characters. Really touching story, but don't be fooled by the smiling faces on the cover. There's not really much smiling in this film at all. In fact, it's so depressing that it made me want to hang myself with a length of wedding tool. Oddly enough, I still recommend it.

Plays like Marty but without the same winsome appeal.

It is full of beautiful suttlety. This film is defentally underrated. Bette Davis is the big star of the movie, but I like Debbie Reynolds stole the picture. It's a shame she never had many chances for dramatic roles
