Another TCM Cruise viewing, with Debbie Reynolds in attendance. It's a cute movie of a working class girl whose mother takes over what is meant to be a small wedding, which soon spirals out of hand and reveals a lot of issues within the family unit. Well worth a look, give it a rental.

Overall, the performances are good and there are occasionally amusing and touching momemts in the otherwise talky, mostly drab, affair under Richard Brooks' direction.

It kinda drags on, but you really connect with the characters. Really touching story, but don't be fooled by the smiling faces on the cover. There's not really much smiling in this film at all. In fact, it's so depressing that it made me want to hang myself with a length of wedding tool. Oddly enough, I still recommend it.

It is full of beautiful suttlety. This film is defentally underrated. Bette Davis is the big star of the movie, but I like Debbie Reynolds stole the picture. It's a shame she never had many chances for dramatic roles
