Congratulations to Nate Parker for creating a masterpiece of a film in birth of a nation. This is a stunning film of the highest order. Gripping, stirring, riveting and totally unforgettable.

There are a few movies in cinema history that transcend their time periods and become universal hymns to human freedom. Some of them are "All Quiet On the Western Front (1931),"The Great Dictator (1940),"Spartacus (1960), "The Way We Were" (1973) "Reds" (1981), "Malcolm X" (1992), "Schindler's List" (1993), Life is Beautiful (1999). "Birth of a Nation" joins that list. It is not just the best film of the year, but the most stirring and courageous film of the 21st century. In my youth in the 60s and 70s, I dreamed that movies could change the world for the better. In my old age, I am not so sure that this is possible, but I am glad to know that there are wonderful people like Nat Parker who still hold that dream.

Very good movie. Great acting,great storyline and had me on an emotional roller coaster. If you haven't seen it, what are you waiting for?

Outstanding film--this is the true birth of our nation of people whose skin color ranges from blue-white to dark brown. This story of Nat Turner's rebellion against slavery is a blazing fire that obliterates the disgusting racist film with the same title. Five stars!

I loved The Birth of a Nation and am thankful for all of the creative talent behind bringing it to the big screen. This story needed to be told! The cinematography, writing, directing and editing was phenomenal. Excellent film.
