This was the movie that started the Godzilla craze. In fact, Godzilla even stole the plot. Just more proof that the U.S. always does it best.

Ahhh, the classic. I remember loving this just from seeing the trailer on a videotape of old b-movie monster trailers. :D Then the movie itself was also tres bien. 8)

The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, although it must have been the first movie to inspire monster-films to come, yet it didn't quite done good to itself. It seemed like the film was aimless with aimless plot and aimless happenings all throughout the film.

Keep in mind this movie was made in 1953, for what it was, I found it pretty good. I suppose, for it's time, it had state of the art special effects. I know it's not supposed to be funny, but I found myself laughing a lot, which is why it was so entertaining: The guy falling 6 feet into soft snow and getting seriously injured, the crowd of men conveniently run all together next to a wall only to be crushed, the overall casual conversation between people who clearly don't sound like they're casually speaking. Seriously, I actually had fun with this one. Course, you need to watch it with a friend. By itself, the movie probably wouldn't be nearly as fun to watch.

Great B-Movie style. If you want to see where the old monster movie cliches come froms ee this film.
