Watched this last night. I thought it was an appropriate sequel to the first film. Whereas the first Trainspotting film was edgy and poetic the sequel has less edge and less poetry, yet it seemed to me to be the appropriate send off for the Trainspotting crew. Probably one of the top ten sequel films ever produced.

Fantastic film. Great nods to the orginal trainspotting, Without trying to make it too much like the orginal. Great wrap up at the end.

Make absolutely no doubt, none whatsoever, that Trainspotting 2 has been made to satisfy the insatiable desires of those whose lives were crafted by the original. I have no objection to overdosing on nostalgia when it is delivered as brutally as it is by Danny Boyle, and T2 delivers it by the truck load, unapologetically and with enough force to derail the hardest of cynics. 20 years well worth the wait. Thank you Danny Boyle.

A sequel is always in danger of being a clusterf#ck of a mess, especially if the original is a highly regarded bonafide classic. To wait 20 years to do a sequel is even more of a gamble, but my god does it pay off here with T2 Trainspotting! Danny Boyle and everyone involved put so much love and care into every aspect of this film and the entire cast give Oscar-worthy performances. Anyone who is a fan of the original needs to see this, and newcomers will experience a different kind of cinema, one that is very bold yet poignant. T2 Trainspotting has secured a place firmly in my top 3 all time favourite movies!
