Shoot Out (1971)

Clay Lomax, a bank robber, gets out of jail after an 7 year sentence. He is looking after Sam Foley, the man who betrayed him. Knowing that, Foley hires three men to pay attention of Clay's steps. The things get complicated when Lomax, waiting to receive some money from his ex-lover, gets only the notice of her death and an 7 year old girl, sometimes very annoying, presumed to be his daughter.

A miscast Gregory Peck is too nice of a guy to be in a revenge western that demands anything but a tender-hearted portrayal.

henry hathaway flick with an aging gregory peck who's just out of prison set on getting revenge with an old pal who landed him there, only to become stuck taking care of a precocious little girl (a la paper moon) who may or may not be his daughter.

Gregory Peck gets out of jail after being double crossed by his old partner who is now a wealthy business man. His old partner sends out a trio of thugs to spy on Peck as Peck searches for his old partner. Oh, and Peck has to take care of an orphan girl who was dumped on him. The bad guys in this movie are made out of cardboard. The little girl comes across as feeling like comic relief half the time and the plot seems to be a collection of western cliches.
