Raising Cain (1992)

Child psychologist Carter Nix is a loving and caring family man, but under this appearance lies a dark and troubled past. Grappling with the consequences of this past on his own psyche and the influence of his returning father and violent brother Cain, Carter becomes involved in a series of murders and kidnappings. Its good but very cheesy, its just a mediocre tv movie that could be good but really isnt, Lithgow is cool as is the idea but its very poorly done.

This was pretty good. I saw it randomly OnDemand last night and even though the "info" was terrible, John Lithgow convinced me to watch it. It was weird how it switched narratives from him to his wife for a random 30 minute gap in the middle.

Distinctively De Palma in style, John Lithgow revels in the multi personality role and is pretty good, although the film itself is a bit ambigous in places.

A very strange film. Lithgow is thrilling and psychotic and perfect for the roles assigned to him. However, I found the film too disjointed and there was no natural flow to the film. Not one I enjoyed for the plot or script but the performance of Lithgow is memorable.
