Just a brilliant film. Hitchcock has it all together, the suspense, the release, the characters.

Hitchcock was always good at taking ordinary situations, and turning them into something dark and sinister. This is definitely one of his finest examples of that ability, and it is evident throughout: a tennis match, a carnival ride, a simple train ride all turned on themselves. Acting is top notch, too, even with the Hitchcock regulars being present, with Robert Walker turning in a truly terrifying role as a psycho with a bit of a thing for Farley Granger. And this quite possibly has my favorite shot from any of the master's films: a close up on a pair of glasses in which the reflection of a murder can be seen. Astonishing.

really great, Hitchcock was a master of atmosphere and suspence! with small effects, such the right music, it achieves what modern movies very often can't.

A masterpiece that exposes how the desires and impulses of seemingly respectable citizens are often little different from those of murderous psychopaths. A truly frightening idea, but Hitchcock makes it go down easy with some of the finest sequences he ever put on film (The murder of Miriam reflected is her own glasses! A final confrontation between the hero and the villain set on a berserk merry-go-round! What a genius this man was!). Robert Walker is astonishing as the twisted but somehow endearing Bruno, and Farley Granger's stiff performance only plays up what a hollow hypocrite the supposed protagonist of the story really is.

Another one of my favorite films from Hitchcock. The plot alone makes this movie perfect. Itâ??s so incredibly demented and genius at the same time that you canâ??t help but watch and see how it plays out. It also has a nice little bit about being a celebrity, donâ??t talk to odd men you donâ??t know. Secretly, they could want you to kill their mother. Robert Walker also gave a career best and is still one of my favorite Hitchcock villains. I also loved Farley Granger because he had a really nice edge to him that most protagonists donâ??t have. Another perfectly directed film that anyone can appreciate.
