This movie made a huge impression on me as a youngman and is still relevent today as we are discussing the place of privilege in our society.

Fine performance from Howard E. Rollins, but the film had serious structural problems. The book was much better. Bonus: James Cagney's line, "People tell me you're a worthless piece of slime".

A thoroughly enjoyable movie. Lots of stars. Mandy Patinkin is great in this too. Made me want to read the book and learn more about that time period.

Too long. Too BORING. The story hinges on one racist event that I dont even find that racist. Uninteresting characters. A 'miniseries' i didnt care about
