Provoked is the true story of Kiranjit Ahluwalia, a Punjabi woman who moved to London after her marriage with Deepak Ahluwalia. Her husband seemed caring at first but then began to beat her up. He started drinking a lot and sleeping around with other women. he also subjected her to spousal rape. After ten years and having two children with him, out of fear, she sets him on fire.

Be a woman, in every planet where man never appreciate the woman is always the same. And the blame should come to the mother who didn't teach her son how to treat a woman ... True story. Amazing movie

As a huge Aishwarya Rai fan, I enjoyed watching her take on such a powerful role and portray Kiranjit Ahluwalia. This movie is very moving and a definite must-see for all women.

One of Aishwarya Rai's best roles. Her dramatic role as Kiranjit Ahluwalia was very beleievable. The story was very good. The only bad part was that it seemed like the director didn't do his job too well. It seemed more like a lifetime tv movie. But its still worth watching.

Ashwariya acted incredibly well in this movie. Nandita Das could have done a better job. I think the movie is very thought provoking and well directed and does complete justice to the real Kiran jeet Ahluwlia story. Its something we see so commoly in life and dont react to. Highly recommended to anyone who wants two hours of intense, true story of an abused woman.
