So good. Almodóvar and Penélope are the best! She gives an amazing performance and the story is so great.

Nicholas Barber 01 Sep 2021

This is undoubtedly one of Almódovar’s breezier and more accessible domestic dramas.

Alex Saveliev 26 Nov 2021

Cruz effortlessly holds the screen in a tricky performance: phlegmatic and ambivalent, radiating charisma and sophistication, making you feel for her despite some morally dubious acts.

Richard Roeper 05 Jan 2022

Somehow, the great Almodóvar has managed to weave together these tales of recent birth and long-ago deaths in a way that is unnerving and yet authentic, strange yet relatable.

Josh Larsen 22 Dec 2021

Of course, Cruz is luminous—especially as she embraces a maternal side that is at once nurturing and ferocious.
