Almodovar in transition? Possibly. Still, there are some wonderful things about Kika. I was thrilled to see it finally available for sale on DVD (in Canada) and even more surprised at what excellent camera work was being done.

An uneasy, bizarre mixture of comedy and drama that somehow works. Veronica Forque is wonderful--worth watching just for her delightful performance. If you like Almodovar, I think you'll like "Kika".

Disturbing, not exactly his strongest feminist portrayal of women. But what can I say, still enjoyable.
