Kika (1993)

When American author Nicholas brings in a cosmetologist named Kika to prepare the corpse of his recently deceased son, she inadvertently revives the young man, then falls in love with him. Forces conspire against the couple, though, as Nicholas wants Kika for himself.

Using his typical assortment of aggressive female characters, Almodovar spends more time on the fashions of his protagonists than on their souls.

Irreverent and hilarious, KIKA is Pedro Almodovar's craziest film. Back are the usual Almodovar elements: colors, dramedy, sexual deviation, murder. The film works thanks to the funny script by Pedro, and the amazing performance by Veronica Forqué as the title character. The rest of the cast is very good too: Peter Coyote, Rossy De Palma, Victoria Abril (in a marvelous role) and Àlex Casanovas.

This is worth watching for 2 reasons: 1. If you ever though that it is impossible for a rape to be hilarious this will prove you wrong (it did with me) 2. Have to see the leading lady standing next to the table cloth with a matching Gaultier dress. Hilarious with a strong 'The lost honour of Katerina Bloom' media attack
