This is a story about a love triangle between a prostitute stripper & 2 best friends. The movie is like a slow-moving drama with no real excitement. It was a lil boring because it is so predictable. The best part of the film was seeing real Brazilian street culture. If you want to see a good Brazilian movie, watch "City of God" and "Carandiru".

A tale of two long-time best friends from the 'lower city' who fell in love with a same girl, Karinna a stripper. Jealously leads to many ugly things that ultimately destroyed their friendship. Cidade Baixa does give us a good peek into the poor & vice ridden world. A rollercoaster ride into bleak emo-dome.
