The last one of the trilogy and it's just as minimalistic and embarassing as the first two. This time everything is going down at a fat camp for kids. Mostly we follow the thirteen year old girl that got a crush on her much older doctor. This is embarassing and unpleasent stuff, it's got that nasty look with sexual undertones. I do love the staticness and the bleak use of color, it's visually good - just like the others. Not as graphic, but it will make your gut wrench a bit. Still I felt it was the poorest effort of the series. Plotwise they are all different but they stick with their looser-vibe around the themes that the titles expose. Extreme versions of humans in an alternative and pitiful settings. An all right film that's not for everyone. This is anything but entertainment. 6.5 out of 10 fat kids with nordic walking poles.

The love story – and it can be called that – between the doctor and Melanie is presented with candour and tenderness. There is a new humanity to Seidl's work; it could be his best film so far.

Paradise: Hope quickly rights itself and becomes lighter, looser, and more sympathetically observed than anything Seidl has done previously, ending a grim trilogy on a brighter note than expected.

gezien 16/11 oosterwolde. Mooie afsluiting van deze trilogie. Blijkbaar gaan in oostenrijk de drie-eenheod geloof, hoop en liefde in een andere volgorde.
