Operation Dumbo Drop (1995)

Five Green Berets stationed in Vietnam in 1968 grudgingly undertake the mission of a lifetime -- to secretly transport an 8,000-pound elephant through 200 miles of rough jungle terrain. High jinks prevail when Capt. Sam Cahill promises the Montagnard villagers of Dak Nhe that he'll replace their prized elephant in time for an important ritual. But for Capt. T.C. Doyle, the mission becomes a jumbo-sized headache!

i like vietnam movies. this one was one for kids, but it was great

It's an all right Disney film; it's fun and a bit enjoyable. Besides that, it nothing great. It has a solid group of characters that are entertaining and at times funny. It's inspired by a true story, but most of it of course was made up. The actual event of bringing an elephant to a village by the army (by air parachuting) is true though.

Ok, I'll admit to loving Ray Liotta, but I found this movie touching and heartwarming. It bought tears to my eyes...

I haven't seen this movie since it was on the Family channel back when I was in grade school. However, from what I can remember, this was a great movie!
