No tiene ni la mitad del encanto y carisma que tiene la película de 1941, sin mencionar la ausencia de Timothy, sin embargo la sola presencia de Dumbo, cuyo encanto y ternura lo convierte en un noble y maravilloso ser es todo lo que la película necesita, lo demás no genera mucha gracia y está demás. Lo bueno: Dumbo y Danny DeVitto. Lo malo: Demasiado relleno y poco cariño. No me decepcionó pero no estará entre las mejores sin duda alguna.

And that’s what this overly eager, fractious, Burtonized but standardized, loudly comic but ultimately rather mirthless remake does to Dumbo. It transforms a miraculous tale into a routine story by weighing it down with a lot of nuts and bolts it didn’t need. The character of Dumbo is still touching, but the tale of entrapment and rescue that surrounds him is not. It’s arduous and forgettable, done in busy italicized strokes, and apart from that FX elephant the movie doesn’t come up with a single character who hooks us emotionally.

This film has done its job. He is very sweet and kind and causes pleasant feelings. In the film, only the children's acting is bad.

I suppose if you wanted to be really generous to the film, you could argue that this Dumbo takes a subversive swipe at Disney, its own corporate overseer.

Considering that it is not an adaptation of the animated classic of 1941, the story is good and entertaining. It does not have the best performances, nor the best direction, but the technical part of the film, as well as the scenery and the environment, are quite good for me. A live-action that will no longer be part of the Disney catalog, will not be a movie that people remember, although it would not be bad from time to time to know of its existence.
