A teenager named Noriko Shimabara runs away from her family in Toyokawa, to meet Kumiko, the leader of an Internet BBS, Haikyo.com. She becomes involved with Kumiko's family circle, which grows darker after the mass suicide of 54 high school girls.

what a cool movie! so confusing! at the end of suicide club the background story was not clear but i had some hunches. noriko destroyed them all, making way for a much broader view on the story. i would even go so far to call it one of the best criticisms of Japanese society. The "playing a role" thing with jobs and even "roles" like mother or father is really observable... no other way people can stand all day at the door of a shop saying "irrashaimase". ;) Some things got lost in the subtitles though, things like "wa" for circle and the additional meaning it has, the whole concept behind it are mostly unknown in the west. i really loved noriko's dinner table and cant wait for a sequel.. and i really hope it will destroy everything i think i know about the story once again!

This 159-minute feature doesn't quite cohere. Mr. Sono's direction is haphazard; he oversells the first half's whimsical touches and the second half's spiral-of-doom emoting. Still, the movie is worth seeing, if only to experience a small story with impossibly grand ambitions.

Es muy buena. Recomiendo haber visto primero Jisatsu Club. No deben esperar respuestas, pues en realidad profundiza mas el misterio alrededor de los suicidios.

My second favorite Sion Sono movie, after Strange Circus. Noriko is more drama than horror, but it's got an intriguing set-up and I enjoyed all of the performances.

This was... overly long, to say the least. I almost turned it off about an hour and a half in. Little did I realize I was only halfway through the movie. Really, only Sion Sono being a very stylish director saved this at all.
